Interior Conflict -Closed Enrollment
PRIVATE COURSE
Interior Conflict 1 is MTAC Training’s foundational Close Quarters Battle course, designed to develop the individual skills required to safely and effectively operate with a rifle in confined environments.
IC1 begins with the fundamentals of working inside structures and progressively introduces students to the problems created by doors, corners, hallways, intersections, and interconnected rooms. Students will learn how to understand and manage angles, properly navigate a structure, identify and address priorities, and make sound decisions as the environment changes.
The course is heavily hands-on. Students will spend the majority of their time working inside MTAC’s dedicated CQB training facility, progressing from techniques into increasingly complex problems and introducing navigation with others.
Topics include:
CQB principles and fundamentals
Understanding and working angles
Doors and threshold problems
Corners and room entry
Hallways and intersections
Structural navigation
Priorities of work
Weapon management in confined spaces
Decision-making and problem solving
Communication and working around others
Progressive CQB exercises and scenarios
IC1 is appropriate for responsible armed citizens and other qualified students who want structured, professional instruction in CQB fundamentals. This is not a basic firearms course. Students should already be comfortable safely operating an AR-15-style rifle, including loading and unloading, manipulating the safety, and placing the weapon on action.
Training is conducted using MTAC’s NLTA weapon-conversion systems, allowing students to apply the techniques against realistic problems inside the shoothouse rather than limiting the course to static drills.
Course Length: 2 Days
Training Environment: MTAC Indoor CQB Facility
Ammunition: NLTA ammunition included
Prerequisite: Safe and competent manipulation of an AR-15 style rifle
IC1 establishes the foundation. The objective is not simply to teach students how to enter a room, but to give them a repeatable framework for understanding and solving problems inside structures.
Required equipment:Required equipment: Clear eye protection meeting ANSI Z87.1, belt, pants with pockets, no open toed shoes, snacks, hydration, and a positive attitude. Note-taking materials, AR-15 with sling (will be converted to shoot UTM), kit with mag pouches. If you want to use a pistol, we have NLTA-converted Glocks available and holsters. Long pants and shirts (two layers of LOOSE clothing are recommended), Head, neck, and face protection (no exposed skin), Gloves with back-of-hand protection, Groin protection.
Eye protection is available for purchase in our pro shop.
Defensive Pistol
Defensive Pistol is designed for responsible gun owners who already understand basic handgun safety and operation and are ready to develop the skills necessary to carry and use a handgun defensively.
This course moves beyond basic marksmanship and introduces students to drawing from a holster, efficiently operating their handgun, solving common problems, and applying shooting fundamentals under increased pressure. Students will learn through professional instruction, structured repetitions, and progressively challenging drills built around the MTAC training cycle.
Who should attend
This course is appropriate for handgun owners who can safely and independently:
Load and unload their handgun
Lock the slide to the rear
Safely insert and remove a magazine
Maintain proper muzzle and trigger-finger discipline
Demonstrate basic accuracy on a stationary target
Students who are unfamiliar with these skills, have never fired their handgun, or are not yet comfortable handling it independently should complete Basic Pistol before attending Defensive Pistol.
